The Bicentennial Medals Proof Set (Franklin Mint, Sterling and Bronze, 64mm, 1975)

Each medal is 64mm in diameter. Includes certificate of authority dated July 16, 1975. This was The Franklin Mint's own medallic tribute to our country's 200th Anniversary. The obverse design, sculptured by Gilroy Roberts, features 30 different sculptured portraits honoring Americans from every part of the country and every period of American history who achieved importance in the last 200 years. The reverse design contains the Preamble to the Constitution of the U.S. Matched sets, one silver and one bronze medal, were edgemarked with the same serial number---and these were the only specimens to be serially numbered.
